Mid-year conference was held at the Scotts Head Christian Campsite over the last few days of the Mid-Semester break and was attended by around thirty people. Minister of the Glen Innes Anglican church and former St Marks boy, Chris Brennan came along and gave five excellent talks on 1 Peter. It was a great encouragement to be reminded of the hope that we have and the way that this should influence the way that we live.

Several practical sessions on evangelism were provided by our own Dave Morgan. Dave gave us some pointers on presenting tracts, giving our testimony, answering difficult questions and running an evangelistic event.

There was also plenty of free time to spend on the beach. A few hardy (silly?) people took the opportunity to go for a dip or a surf while the rest of us went walking, fishing and learned to play a few new games. We had a picnic dinner on the beach on Thursday night. Everyone enjoyed sitting around campfires and eating the great meal Gemma and Martin had prepared, while the boys provided some light entertainment as they attempted to get Ross's very bogged car out of the sand. The 'Dress to Impress' dinner, held on the Friday night, was also a great success, proving once and for all that beauty really is in the eye of the beholder!
