Carols 2007

Carols @ Booloominbah 2007

Much to everyone’s relief, the weather stayed dry on Saturday Dec 15 and the Carols could be held on the lawns of Booloominbah for the first time in a couple of years.

The night began with a picnic dinner. Families arrived with their picnic blankets and baskets and enjoyed the view over Armidale while they ate. The Carols began once the light started to fade. Candles were lit and kids played with their glow sticks.

The Youth Orchastra, directed and conducted by Matt Pearson and Hannah Trotman and singers Craig Schneider, Fiona Taber and Kate Jones, provided some excellent music and led everyone through the carols.

Bible readings were given between some of the songs, outlining Jesus’ life – from the prophecies about His birth to His death and resurrection. Each of the readers were interviewed about a personal aspect of Christmas. Martin Trotman also gave a short talk about the significance of having a church on a university campus and the compatibility of faith and credible thought.

A very enjoyable time was had by all. Many thanks to all those who were involved, particularly those who spent the afternoon setting up and stayed back to help pack up afterwards.
