Philippians is sometimes referred to as “the Epistle of Joy” – yet this is not precise enough to capture its depth and power. Certainly the “joy-rejoice” group of words occurs and power. Certainly the “joy-rejoice” group of words occurs more frequently in this letter than any other New Testament writing – but it is the circumstance of the Apostle Paul’s writing that provide the depth and power.
