Women @ St Marks

Charm is deceptive, and beauty is fleeting but a woman who fears the LORD is to be praised. Proverbs 31:30

Women’s Growth Group (with crèche) Friday morning

Our 10am Friday morning Women’s Growth Group is a great opportunity for Bible teaching, support and encouragement for women of all ages. Several younger women from UNEchurch run a crèche which gives us some much appreciated ‘child free’ time to study God’s Word together.

Studies usually parallel the current sermon series, with occasional forays into specific topics, themes and issues. For example, we recently worked through a series of studies on ‘Encouragemen’t based around the idea that ‘God’s Word changes us and through us it can change others too.’

We also enjoy morning tea and a good natter. Feel free to join us!

Women’s Breakfasts, Brunches & Dinners

Upcoming > Women's Brunch Saturday August 4

Held every month or so, our breakfasts, brunches and dinners are a great way to share a meal while hearing women from home and further abroad talk about a variety of fascinating issues from a Christian viewpoint.

We have enjoyed hearing from local speakers Julianne Ferguson, Sam Brennan (ex St Mark’s and now Gunnedah) and Alex Pottie (St Peter’s)

Past speakers and talks have included…

> Julia Anderson: ‘An Audience of One’. Wife of Hon. John Anderson speaks about her life experiences and reflects on how knowing God affects everything.

> Elsbeth Howard: ‘Nine Parts of Desire - Glimpses of Iran through a chador.’ A Clinical Nurse Specialist working in Accident & Emergency at Armidale Hospital, Elsbeth recounts her experiences traveling in Iran and especially meeting and talking with Iranian women

> Greta Gaut: ‘What Women Want’. Greta is a f ormer Chaplain to PLC Sydney.

> Sam Brennan: “An Ordinary Woman & An Extraordinary Man”. Sam is a mother of three and is married to Chris, a minister in Gunnedah NSW.

> Karen Eastment: "He Makes All Things Clear". Karen is Chaplain to the New England Girls' School (NEGS) - Armidale.
